Article 1. - GENERAL PRINCIPLES

1. The "Eclaireuses Eclaireurs de France" aims at contributing to the formation of the youth by the animation of societies of young people according to the principles and the practices of the scouting.
   The Association is a youth movement which, in a permanent educational perspective, gathers children, teenagers and also adults who take together responsibilities and, by this means, pursue their formation.
   
   
2. The Association, secular as the french public school, is opened to all, without distinction of gender, origin or faith. It depends on no political party and no church and refrains himself from any religious, philosophic or political propaganda. Each of his members is assured to find, within the Association, respect and understanding.
   
   
3. Setting to itself the actual respect for the dignity and for the virtualities of each of his members, the Association, opened to the boys and to the girls, practises the coeducation.
   
   
4. The Association aims at forming citizens who know and like their country, who are aware of social problems and attempted to resolve them.
   The Association does not separate this civic duty of the fight to free the man and the woman of any subjection. It tries hard to promote the necessary agreement between the peoples by the practice of the brotherhood between all the young people of all the countries and makes a commitment to fight against any kind of racism.
   It teaches the children, the young people and the adults to know and to understand the world in which they live, and engage all his members to act to protect and make respect the balance and the harmony of our environment.
